Our Lake Placid NY Hotels Experience
Kristen grew up in western NY near the Finger Lakes and soon after Mark moved from the UK to the US at the end of 2019, we immediately planned an action packed New England fall road trip itinerary for 2020.
Then covid hit and we weren’t sure if it would be possible but we persevered and followed through with our plans.
Coming from western NY, we wanted to stop in the Adirondacks on the way to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Lake Placid was the perfect place for us to visit because we wanted to hike Mount Marcy and summit the tallest peak in the state.
We spent 3 nights at two different hotels in Lake Placid and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the quaint mountain village.
Our Lake Placid lodging consisted of one night at Town House Lodge and two nights at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Both were excellent and we would happily stay again.

You can also pay anywhere up to $500 / night at the more luxurious hotels near Lake Placid NY during these peak dates of the year. Holiday weekends are especially expensive.
With that said, you can find cheap hotels in Lake Placid during small windows of the year when tourism decreases.
For instance, between the ski season and warmer spring weather arriving, hotel prices drop because demand drops.
Travelers on a low budget can find Lake Placid hotel rooms for around $100 / night in off season. We would say the cheapest time of year to stay in Lake Placid is mid March through the beginning of May.
