Why Stay In Page AZ?
Page is one of the most popular stops on the traditional Utah and Arizona road trip route thanks to several outstanding natural features, most notably Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell.
Horseshoe Bend is a striking U bend in the Colorado River, Lake Powell in Glen Canyon National Recreational Area is filled with fun outdoorsy things to do and Antelope Canyon is the famous slot canyon tour you have probably seen on Instagram.
These three landscapes alone draw millions to Page AZ each year.
Outside of sightseeing, Page is a very cheap place to stay on the typical UT and AZ road trip route.
Thousands of road trippers every year use Page as a place to take a day off, relax and catch up on washing or admin while staying at a low cost hotel.
Things To Do Near Page Arizona
So what can you do if you decide to spend two or three nights at a hotel in Page AZ?
Let’s take a look at what is in store for your visit:
- Take one of several Antelope Canyon Tours
- Watch sunrise or sunset at Horseshoe Bend
- Hike a portion of Buckskin Gulch slot canyon
- See Glen Canyon Dam from a popular overlook
- Win a permit to hike The Wave
- Spend a day exploring Glen Canyon Recreational Area
- Enjoy the picturesque Toadstool Hoodoos hike
- Day trip to Grand Canyon North Rim
Many visitors to Page are only interested in seeing Antelope Canyon between hiking in Zion National Park and visiting Grand Canyon South Rim, but there are so many more fun things to see and do in the area.
We recommend allowing at least one full day to explore the photogenic hikes around Page (not including Antelope Canyon).
However, if you plan to hike Buckskin Gulch or you win a permit to hike The Wave, you will need to book a longer stay in Page or book a hotel in Kanab instead.
Are Hotels In Page AZ Expensive?
No, hotels in Page Arizona are not expensive. In fact, Page hotel prices are surprisingly cheap considering the popularity of Antelope Canyon and nearby national parks.
Travelers on a low budget can find Page AZ hotel rooms for under $70 / night in off season.
Whereas on the opposite end of the spectrum even the more expensive hotels in the area remain under $250 / night in peak months if booked in advance.
There are no luxury 5 star hotels in Page but the quality of cheap and mid range budget hotels is higher than average.
You will find multiple chain hotels in Page with very similar guest ratings and at very similar price points.
We strongly recommend you check prices for all hotels in this guide to see which has a better nightly rate for the dates of your trip to Page.
With that said, there are two important things we want to make you aware of before booking your hotel in Page AZ.
1. Hotel Tax In Page AZ
The first thing you should bear in mind when booking hotels near Page Arizona is “Hotel Tax“, which is officially known as Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT).
Page is located in Coconino County, Arizona which levies 14.16% hotel tax on all stays, no matter how you book your room.
The 14.16% is made up of hotel tax + city tax.
So let’s say a room costs $100 for one night in Page, your total cost is going to be $114.16
- When booking your hotel using Booking.com look under the price for “includes taxes and fees“. This means the price you see is final and will not be subject to further add ons.
- Conversely, if you see text reading something like “+$30 for taxes and fees“, that means you will pay the hotel room cost + the additional 14.16% fee for bed tax and other fees.
This is something to be aware of so you avoid any nasty surprises when you come to pay!
2. Seasonality In Page
Page has a clear peak season and a clear off-season:
- Peak season in Page consists of the spring, summer and fall months between March and October.
- Off season in Page is mostly the winter season months from November through February.
We noticed a huge difference in tourist numbers in Page between our October and November visits, despite a difference of just 1 month.
What does this mean for booking hotels in Page AZ?
Well, it means seasonality will play a role in hotel availability and affordability for your visit.
You stand a better chance of picking up a lower nightly rate if you book a Page AZ hotel in winter. We have noticed hotel prices are especially cheap in January and February.
Despite the intense heat in Arizona, nightly prices for guest rooms inflate in the summer months.
Try to book in advance to save money on hotels in Page Arizona, particularly if you plan to visit in summer.

It doesn’t matter which part of town you stay because you will have access to a car and all amenities are within a few minutes drive.

Here are the two areas most Page AZ hotels are found:
